Patrick Henry is blessed with tremendous artistic ability. He also feels blessed, though, to be able to enjoy the gift of life now twenty months after first starting dialysis. He's embraced the fact that he can be more successful as a dialysis patient if he learns as much as he possibly can about kidney disease and how he can impact his own care by self education.
In November 2010, Patrick wrote an article describing his first year on dialysis in the Puyallup Tribal News. As a member of the Puyallup tribe of Indians that resides in the Puget Sound area of western Washington, Patrick felt it was important to share his impressions with his fellow tribal members and others to help educate them about kidney disease. We're fortunate to have patients like Patrick, who not only share their time with us, but also their personal lives and some amazing talents. Visitors to our center would be hard pressed to find an office in the Tacoma Dialysis Center that doesn't have artwork made by Patrick on the wall.
This bond between patient and team at Tacoma Dialysis Center is just one shining example of The trilogy of care in action!
