Staff Spotlight: Renee Dietrich

Dental assistant

DIETRICH

Renee Dietrich has spent the last 13 years working as a dental assistant at various clinics and dental offices and recently joined the staff at the Puyallup Tribal Health Authority (PTHA).

Starting at the PTHA in late February, Renee Dietrich says so far she is enjoying her new job and is looking for the opportunities for expanding her training as she continues her career.

Prior to coming to the PTHA, Renee Dietrich was working at a children’s dental clinic in Parkland. Prior to that she worked for the dental office at Fort Lewis and also for Willamette Dental.

She said she had always heard great things about the PTHA so when she saw the job opening in the paper, she decided to apply.

“There’s a lot of longevity with the dental assistants here,” she said. “Everyone is really nice and welcoming. I like the people here, the patients and my co-workers.”

She said she is excited to take advantage of the clinic’s extra training opportunities for expanded functions.

Renee Dietrich decided to go into the dental field because growing up she had some phobias and bad dental experiences. Working as a dental assistant allows her to help ease her patients’ concerns and fears about dentistry and oral care.

The long-time Puyallup resident enrolled for training at Clover Park Technical College and graduated in 1997.

Renee Dietrich enjoys assisting in all aspects of dental procedures, including surgeries, restorations and preventative care.

“Everyone is really nice – everyone has fun and is laughing. It’s a relaxed atmosphere,” she said. “I would like to thank everyone for being so welcoming.”

Renee Dietrich lives in Graham and is engaged to her partner of nine years. She has a 16-year-old son and two miniature pinchers.
