Subject: Tribal Set-aside Grant Programs Housing Assistance for Puyallup Tribal Members
If you are a Puyallup Tribal Member residing in Pierce, King or Thurston County, you are eligible to receive housing assistance. Income is not an issue under the Tribal Set-aside Grant Programs.
The Puyallup Tribal Housing Authority will begin accepting applications on November 4, 2008 for the Tribal Set-aside Programs. The closing date for accepting applications is December 19, 2008 except for the Down-payment Assistance program which will remain open until all the programs funds are exhausted. Elders will receive the highest preference, using a point system. All other applications will be placed on a list after they are certified eligible and selected by lottery. Please apply for Housing Assistance at the Puyallup Tribal Housing Authority at 2806 East Portland Avenue in Tacoma, Washington. Our office is open to the public from 8:30 A.M. to 12:00 Noon and 1:00 P.M. – 4:30 P.M. Monday through Friday or by appointment. Please mention that you are applying for one of the Tribal Set-aside programs.
The following is a description of the programs funded by the Tribal Set-Aside Grant. You can only apply for one program at a time. You can not apply if you are currently participating in another housing assistance program.
Rental Assistance: We will serve approximately twenty-five (25) over income households @ $300.00 per month for 36 months.

Down-payment/Closing Costs: We will provide $10,000 for twenty-five (25) home Closing Costs buyers to assists in down payment and closing cost. Elders will have priority, using a point system. Applicants under the age of fifty-five (55) will be by lottery.

Purchase and Sale Agreement
Pre-qualification letter from a lending institution.
Mortgage Assistance/All Tribal Members: We will serve twenty-seven homeowners at $500 per month for thirty-six months. Elders will have priority, using the point system. Applicants under the age of fifty-five (55) will be by lottery.

Current monthly Mortgage Statement.
Letter stating mortgage company will receive partial payments OR agreement to pay PTHA each month.
Your applications for the Tribal Set-aside Rental Assistance and Mortgage Assistance Programs must be completed and submitted to the Puyallup Tribal Housing Authority before the deadline of December 19, 2008. Benefits will begin on February 1, 2009.
