Stacey Sadler began working at the PTHA dental clinic three years ago, just as she was finishing up the dental assistance program at Bryman College.
The 29-year-old mother of 5-year-old Ryley has a strong love for children, and is glad her job at the PTHA lets her work with the youngest group of patients.
Stacey Sadler is an Alaska Native of the Eyak Tribe, and moved to the Fife area when she was very young. She grew up in the local area, attended Fife High School, and after graduation started working at Children’s Character Club daycare, in Milton.
After the birth of her daughter, Stacey Sadler decided to go back to school and work towards a career in the dental field.
“I wanted to go to school and do something different, and the mouth never bugged me,” Stacey Sadler joked.
At the PTHA, where she started as an intern, Stacey Sadler has a wide variety of job responsibilities. She works as an assistant to the pediatric dentist on Mondays and on Tuesdays she is out at Chief Leschi screening and providing sealants for the students there.
“I love working with kids,” she said. “They’re always happy, and excited.”
The rest of the week, Stacey Sadler works sanitizing and organizing the constant flow of dental instruments when she is not filling in as an assistant on the floor.
Stacey Sadler is working to keep her fellow dental assistants organized, and assisting them where help is needed. She said she always tries to help out where she can.
“They’re stuck in a chair all day,” she said “Whatever they need, I’ll get it.”
One of her favorite aspects of her job, aside from working with children, is assisting during surgery.
