The Sunshine Committee for Chief Leschi HS/MS, in cooperation with the staff and students, are working together to provide C.A.R.E. packages for our service men and women in the war zones of Iraq and Afghanistan. We have titled this endeavor “OPERATION WARRIOR.”
The goal is to identify the service men and women of spouses, children, siblings of Chief Leschi MS/HS staff and students and send them a C.A.R.E. package. The items included in these packages will be ones that they can use, but usually do not have access to. We also hope to include letters written by staff and students in these packages.
This program provides the staff and students a way to connect with those people that are far away from home and in a very difficult place. The Sunshine Committee will provide the first package in hopes that it can arrive in the war zone by Warrior Day 2008.
You can become involved with this program by letting the committee know those individuals that are spouses, children or siblings of students or staff of Chief Leschi MS/HS serving in the armed forces of the United States in Iraq or Afghanistan. I can be reached at the MS/HS by e-mail at fred@leschischools.org.
We are looking forward to the launch of this program and feel it is a great way to honor our service men and women from the families of Chief Leschi.
