You're invited to participate in the Fun Run/Walk 10th Anniversary Celebration!

Come and join the fun at the Puyallup Tribal Health Authority on Sept. 6 as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the tobacco free fun run/walk. Beginning in 1999 non-smokers, former smokers, and smokers have come together to spread the word to our youth that smoking is not good for their health.
This FREE community prevention focused event has something for everyone. Participants ranging from infants to the elderly gather in the Spirit House at 8 a.m. to register, eat breakfast, visit and get their t-shirts before they take to the street.
Last year 230 people wore t-shirts that said “Don’t Smoke – Don’t Start” as they made their way up Grandview to the Grandview Learning Center and back again for more food and door prizes. The course has an elderly/disabled rest station one block from the Spirit House, a one-mile turn around station at Harrison Street, a two-mile turn around station at the Learning Center, and a three-mile turn around at Browning. Each station has water, chairs and a volunteer to assist you if needed.
Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to get some exercise, eat healthy food and spread the word in our community that being tobacco free is the healthy way to be. The household with the most registered participants will get a $50 gift card to Fred Meyer!
Please leave your dogs, roller skates and bikes at home for everyone’s safety. Come to the Spirit House in the Kwawachee Building at the clinic located at 2209 E. 32nd St., Tacoma WA at 8 a.m. on Sept. 6. For more information, call Nancy at (253) 593-0232 ext 513.
