On Saturday, May 17, Chief Leschi High School held its annual Junior/Senior Prom at the North Shore Golf Course. The theme was “Masquerade, Moonlight and Memories” and the color scheme was black and white. Many students and staff wore black and white and each attendee was given a black eye mask. The prom was held in the golf course restaurant and deck. The staff at North Shore were extremely supportive and helpful as a group of our teachers decorated all day for the prom. Once again, Mr. Rhodes volunteered to organize and decorate the prom. Mr. Rhodes really enjoys planning the prom decorations and it has always been his policy that no students help him because he wants them to be surprised when they walk in the door. Helping him decorate were Will McDaniels, Sadie Srail, Juanita Anderson, Vanessa Hay, Kristi Helms-Smith, Karen Wilson and Dee Gardner. There were black and white balloons spread out all around the dance floor, black and white tablecloths, and table decorations using mirror tiles and candles.
Mrs. Larsen’s Culinary Arts classes were responsible for catering the event. From the punch fountain to the cheesecakes and tuxedo chocolate strawberries, the food was beautiful and delicious. Mr. Hobbs and Mr. Incorvaia set up the DJ equipment and provided the music for the event. Since it was such a hot day, the dance floor was put out on the deck.
A special thanks goes to Selene Duenas for helping out and organizing the royalty portion of prom.
