Are you aware of the drug and alcohol services available in your community?
If not, this is the chance to get educated on some of the alcohol services available at the Puyallup Tribal Treat-ment Center. The Treatment Center offers intensive programs for the rehabilitation of drug and alcohol addicted patients. The Center proudly serves Native Americans in Pierce County and Washington State. While dealing primarily with the Puyallup Tribal Health Authority eligible community, patients from around the Northwest find help on space available basis.
The treatment center provides the following services:
• Intensive Inpatient
The 30 day primary residential program
was the first certified intensive in-patient
chemical dependency program for
Native Americans in Washington State.
A model of total abstinence is used
with emphasis placed on the traditional
medicine wheel in treating the whole
person physically, emotionally, spiri-
tually, and mentally. Services include:
one-on-one counseling, group therapy,
nutrition education, relapse prevention,
self help skills, alcohol drug education,
spiritual classes, use of the traditional
sweat lodge and access to the tradi-
tional healers.
• Outpatient
The outpatient program provides: eval-
uation/assessments, one-on-one counseling, group therapy, probation/parole, and employment assistance and education.
• Intensive Outpatient
The intensive outpatient program pro-
vides 72-hour chemical dependency
treatment within an eight-week period.
Patients can attend aftercare in the
regular outpatient program.
To learn more about the services offered, call the Treatment center at (253) 593-0232.
